Our Wedding

Rory and Ally met in 2017 in Berkeley, California, and it only took 3 days sharing a cabin and working alongside each other to form a lasting connection.When they met, Ally was working as a farmer in the hills of Mendocino county, and Rory was touring the country with his band Quiles &amp; Cloud. Ally's farm needed some extra help, and Oscar, friend of Ally and bassist in Quiles &amp; Cloud, recommended Rory for the job.Immediately comfortable together, the two spent the weekend working, talking about life, laughing and sharing songs.Once the weekend was over, Rory was only in town for a couple days more before he'd be leaving for a 5-week tour, so they scheduled their first 'real' date at Sol Food in San Rafael.Later that evening, Ally was headed from dinner to a contra dance, a form of traditional American folk dance, and Rory was headed to Oakland's Octopus Literary Salon to play a show, so they parted ways.About an hour into the dance Ally told her dancer friends about how Rory, only had one more night in town before leaving. All of them, all long in their years, told Ally she was being ridiculous and needed to leave right away and go to that show in Oakland.Before he knew it, midway through the performance Rory looked up from his guitar and saw Allyson in the audience.For the next 5 weeks while Rory was traveling across the country, he and Ally stayed connected over the phone every single day, getting to know each other.The friendship they built in those early days of their relationship is the bedrock upon which their union is based. Mutual trust, respect, shared creative pursuits, and desire for growth has deepened that commitment and grounded them in their love of one another.They are so happy and honored to share this day with you!

Or call it dressy casual. We want our guests to feel dressed up but comfortable. We'll be outside and it will likely be hot earlier in the day but be cooling down significantly by 6pm. Typically on September 5th the high is 80-90*, cooling to 75* by 7pm. By the late evening it will likely be in the low sixties or high 50s so we recommend bringing layers for the evening.

What about parking?

Parking will be available at the host family's second property down the road from the wedding venue property. Some cars will also be parked at the venue. When the date is closer we will coordinate with folks who will be staying in Santa Cruz to see if we want to rent a shuttle to take folks up to the venue.

Your presence is enough of a gift for us, thank you for celebrating with us! If you still want to give us a gift, we are requesting no physical gifts (as we have a small house!) but we have a couple cash funds for our honeymoon and our band, Echoes &amp; Artifacts. Thank you!

TRAVEL & ADDRESS

Thank you so much for traveling to come celebrate with us! We are so grateful you are coming to see us and consider that your gift to us. &lt;3 The address is 155 Sunbeam Ave, Boulder Creek 95006. Because of the holiday weekend, we do recommend looking for transportation and accommodations in advance as this is a tourist town. We're grateful that folks will have an extra day of vacation time to travel, but we will have more company at the airports, in hotels and in downtown Santa Cruz and coastal California during that weekend. San Jose airport is the closest and smallest airport near to Santa Cruz. It is about 40-50 minutes from Santa Cruz and, due to the mountain roads, also about 50 minutes to the venue in Boulder Creek. There are a good amount of flights that come through San Jose, but they can be more costly. San Francisco Airport is about 90 minutes from Santa Cruz and Boulder Creek. That airport will have the least expensive flights and will have a wide range of rental car services. The Oakland Airport is also an option. It is roughly and hour and 45 minutes from Boulder Creek and Santa Cruz.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Between Santa Cruz, Ben Lomond and Scotts Valley there are a large selection of hotels, motels and AirBnB's to choose from for your stay. Based on our research and quotes for room blocks, it looks like the best option cost wise is keeping accommodations open to your preferences for location. Santa Cruz is from 35-45 minutes away from the wedding venue in Boulder Creek. PLACES WE LOVE

Rory is the ultimate regular here. We love their cappuccinos, the Quinoa breakfast bowl and their incredible scones!

Cafe Delmarette

Abbott Square is an amazing collection of food vendors attached to the Museum of Art &amp; History. You can find Peruvian food, vegan African food, Italian food, burgers, a creative bar and third wave coffee. This is a great place for lunch and drinks while you're downtown. If you come in Friday night, there also may be some music in the square!

This is a great park for excellent views of the coast and ocean as well as beautiful redwood walks.

Wilder Ranch State Park

This beach is within walking distance of our house and it has great fire pits for late night fires under the stars.

Seabright Beach

The boardwalk is a straight shot 7 minute walk from our house. Its full of rides, activities and food vendors great for kids and adults alike.

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

This is our favorite bookstore/restaurant in town. They have an amazing occult section that Ally loves and lots of tasty bites.

BAD ANIMAL

This is our favorite restaurant in town! We always go here to celebrate wins big and small. They are a seasonal farm to table restaurant with the best sourdough bread we've ever had. We love everything they cook and their deserts are incredible. It's a woman-owned company too which we love.
